Welcome back to Silver Lakes!
We have now been open just shy of three weeks. It’s been great to see golfers braving the rain to get out there and enjoy the course. The rain brings beautiful lush greens, and today the sun has finally made a comeback, so make sure you book your tee times now!
Birch Bar launch
A lot to report on – the Club has been abuzz with activity. Wednesday night, although we had to cancel our inaugural Sunset yoga session due to poor weather, we hosted a fantastic launch to our Birch Bar ("The Birch"), with well over 50 guests coming out to enjoy the complimentary red and whites, sangria, and mulled wine to keep out the chill, as well as hand-passed hors d’oeuvres, wood-fired pizza, and ample charcuterie trays.
With live music from David Toms playing cool jazz on the piano and the weather clearing later in the evening, we ended up with sunset views over Blue Heron Lake and guests who stayed well after it got dark, keeping cozy with fire pits and blankets.
Our guests were able to use our newly built outdoor restrooms adjacent to The Birch and avoid having to go back to the Clubhouse. To showcase our new limousine 6 seater golf cart we offered lifts to our guests when they needed to get back to their cars.
This is clearly going to be the place to be this summer! Prize giveaways from Silver Lakes and Kendra Yoga in Keswick
We hope you all had a chance to participate in our cross site promotion on Instagram with Kendra Yoga Centre in Keswick – the winners were announced last week and they won four golf passes from Silver Lakes and a couples ‘relax, restore and rest package’ from Kendra Yoga Centre for following and sharing our post and tagging three friends.
Welcome promotion and what’s new at Sixteen Lakes Bistro
We hope you took full advantage of our welcome promotion which offered golfers a voucher for a complimentary bowl of soup during the chilly start to the season, or have had a chance to try our delicious new fish tacos at the Bistro. We are pleased to welcome our new Executive Chef, Jenn Brooker, who is full of great ideas for Silver Lakes.

Last Thursday Jenn was selected to take part in the ‘Chef Showcase’ at George Brown College in Toronto where, along with 10 other chefs working from food stations set up around the room, Jenn presented her Ahi Tuna with Mango Salsa which was a huge hit. Because of this event, Jenn and Silver Lakes are going to be featured in Canadian Living Magazine – great work Jenn!!
On-course personalized delivery
We would also like to give you the heads-up that we will soon be offering on-course personalized delivery using a QR code – of any of our delicious Bistro offerings. We are excited to offer this new service, though you can of course continue to call us at the Back 9 for pick up at the Clubhouse if this is what you are used to.
Mother’s Day Brunch – around the corner!

Silver Lakes was pleased to host the Ladies League Season Opening on Tuesday, May 2nd. Our Ladies are excited for a season of fun and light competition. Today we are busy preparing for the Men’s League Opening, which is tonight! Team Game, prizing, great food - a perfect way to kick off the season.
Mark your calendars on May 25th at 5pm – Silver Lakes is also bringing back our popular “9 and Dine” – details and menu to follow next week.

The course is in spectacular shape thanks to the hard work of our Superintendent and Turf Maintenance Team. The greens wintered well and the crew has been working all Spring to provide the absolute best conditions - they can’t wait to see you all out here!
